Elizabeth McGovern joined Gordon Arata in August 2024 after earning her Juris Doctorate from Loyola University New Orleans College of Law. While in law school, she participated in the Trial Advocacy program, served as a member of the Loyola Law Review, and is a member of Phi Delta Phi international legal fraternity. She co-founded the current chapter of the Women Law Students Association (WLSA) to Loyola during her first year of law school, serving as co-President in her second year. Additionally, she was a research assistant for Blaine LeCesne, Dean of Diversity, Equity & Inclusion.
Elizabeth gained hands-on legal experience through various summer clerkships and positions, including the United States Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit, Arizona Legal Center, Gordon Arata’s 2L program, and a plaintiff’s firm assisting with personal injury and medical malpractice cases. Also, she worked on multiple political campaigns in her home state of Arizona.
With a strong passion for music, Elizabeth was selected as the student performer to sing the National Anthem at her Loyola Law commencement ceremony.

Off the Clock
Elizabeth is a singer-songwriter with a self-titled album on all streaming platforms called “Elizabeth.” She was the two-time winner of the Boston College songwriting competition and sang at a scholarship fundraiser with the Boston Pops Orchestra let by Keith Lockhart.
