Stephen P. Beiser

Stephen “Steve” Beiser is an experienced trial lawyer with more than four decades of practice representing businesses in employment and commercial disputes nationwide. Known for his strategic, practical, and efficient approach to litigation, Steve defends employers in a wide range of workplace-related claims and advises clients on risk management, regulatory compliance, and dispute resolution. His clients span numerous industries, including chemical and industrial manufacturing, retail, and financial services. In addition to his employment work, Steve maintains an active commercial litigation practice.

Steve’s labor and employment experience includes defending federal and state claims involving discrimination based on race, sex, age, disability, religion, and political affiliation, as well as harassment, wrongful termination, breach of contract, defamation, and emotional distress claims. He has also handled matters involving whistleblower allegations, the Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification (WARN) Act, employee benefits and ERISA disputes, wage and hour claims, family and medical leave issues, unfair labor practices, class actions, executive severance agreements, and non-compete disputes.

Over the course of his career, Steve has represented employers before numerous federal and state agencies, including the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC), National Labor Relations Board (NLRB), Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), and the United States Department of Labor (DOL), as well as the Louisiana Department of Insurance and the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA). He has handled appeals in both state and federal courts, with several matters resulting in published opinions.

Steve has represented businesses, individuals, and trade associations in regulatory and business disputes, including matters before the Louisiana Public Service Commission, New Orleans City Council, and the Alcoholic Beverage Control Commission, as well as other administrative and governmental bodies. In addition to courtroom litigation, Steve represents clients in arbitration proceedings.
