Gordon Arata member Adam J. Russ has been selected to the 2026 Texas Super Lawyers list for Business Litigation, marking his fourth consecutive selection. Based in the firm’s Houston office, Russ represents businesses, executives, and entrepreneurs in business-critical disputes throughout Texas and across the Gulf Coast.
Russ serves as lead counsel in state and federal courts, appeals, and arbitration. His practice encompasses disputes across various industries involving commercial contracts, energy and natural resources, banking and finance, employment, technology, construction, real estate, insurance, and business competition. He also advises clients on managing risk and resolving disputes outside of the courtroom before litigation arises. This collaborative approach enables clients and outside counsel to access experienced Texas litigation support while maintaining seamless coordination with overall case objectives.
Licensed in multiple states, Russ regularly serves as Texas local and co-counsel to companies and national and international law firms, coordinating on often unique aspects of Texas procedure and substantive law.

Russ has been selected each year since 2023 and was previously named to the Texas and Ohio Rising Stars lists from 2012 through 2020.
Russ has also been recognized as a Texas Litigation Star by Benchmark Litigation and selected as part of the 2026 and 2027 Lawdragon 500 Leading Litigators in America.
Russ earned his J.D. from Notre Dame Law School and his B.B.A. in Finance and Business Economics, magna cum laude, from the University of Notre Dame. He serves on the Notre Dame Law Association Board, teaches as a guest instructor in the Law School’s Intensive Trial Advocacy Program, and is active within the Notre Dame Club of Houston.
